About the Position

This position is within the Regulatory Team. The Regulatory Team works to align LUMA’s business plan with the public energy policy goals of Puerto Rico and plays a key role for the design, implementation and reporting on key policy initiatives.

Regulatory works with all LUMA departments in support LUMA’s compliance and reporting obligations under the Operations and Management Agreement, the energy regulator, and other governmental bodies. The team works with multiple external stakeholders and is responsible for the delivery of professional written documents, and verbal reason to support compliance and reporting.

 

A high attention to detail, excellent time management, strong English and Spanish writing and reading comprehension and clear communication are key skills within the team.

 

Support regulatory reporting team with reporting-related administration management. This individual contributes to the development of high-quality work products and the management of regulatory reporting requirements by providing overall support for the reporting team activities, as directed by the Reporting Director, Manager or Analyst. Responsible for ensuring compliance with the Transmission and Distribution Operation and Maintenance Agreement (T&D OMA). Supports the Reporting Director and Managers to ensure regulatory objectives are met.

What will you get up to everyday?

  • Support all general administrative tasks for Reporting Director, Managers and Analysts.
  • Assist in the coordination and scheduling (in Outlook) of reporting team and internal stakeholder meetings and tasks.
  • Responsible for understanding and ensuring compliance with the Transmission and Distribution Operation and Maintenance Agreement (T&D OMA).
  • Responsible for understanding and adhering to formal reporting procedures.
  • Responsible for the management, organization and ongoing maintenance of the Reporting SharePoint.
  • Responsible for maintaining the SharePoint Transmittal Log, developing Transmittal Forms, and other related tasks.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to see the big picture, interpret and assess the short- and long-term impacts of actions and identify when decision escalation is necessary.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to manage to strict deadlines and track 10-20 tasks at all times.
  • Strong English communication skills (both oral and written).
  • Ability to effectively communicate requirements and strategy with all levels of employees through various means such as email, phone, video conferencing, and in-person.
  • Strong English editing and writing skills, with the ability to review, analyze and comprehend legal documentation in English.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams across the organization.
  • Strong skills in the use of computer applications (MS Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and programs such as Microsoft Project and SharePoint.
  • Willingness to receive feedback and desire to develop new skills.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education

  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Engineering or Economics: or a Law degree

Experience

  • Work background in regulatory, law, business writing or economics related fields are an asset.
  • One to two years of relevant regulatory or utility industry experience is preferred, however directly related knowledge acquired through pertinent education or work-experience will be considered.
  • Strong technology and English communication skills, and high attention to detail are a must.
